Rapp: $2.25 Million Awarded to Warren County Water Projects

HARRISBURG — Rep. Kathy L. Rapp (R-Warren/Crawford/Forest) announced today the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) has awarded a combined $2.25 million in funding for two water infrastructure projects in Warren County.

The first award is for upgrades to the drinking water systems in Youngsville Borough. PENNVEST awarded a low-interest loan of more than $1.5 million for the project, which includes repairs to two existing brick-and-mortar 200,000-gallon water storage reservoirs.

The second award is for finalizing an aeration treatment plant in Bear Lake Borough. PENNVEST awarded a low-interest loan of more than $561,000 and a grant of more than $173,000 for the project which includes the installation of approximately 7,700 feet of new sanitary sewer collection lines and 4,200 feet of main.

“We sincerely appreciate the funding that has been dedicated to strengthening the water infrastructure in Warren County,” Rapp said. “These investments are essential to safeguarding public health, supporting economic growth and ensuring the long-term reliability of the systems our communities depend on every day.”

PENNVEST, established in 1988, funds the design and construction of drinking water, wastewater and storm water projects across Pennsylvania.
